While I have captured boudoir before, you might be wondering what to bring, how to prepare, and what exactly goes on in the studio. I thought a little blog post might be handy.
The Day Before Your Shoot |
Bathe, shave and moisturize. Your skin will be more refreshed than doing this the same day.
Double-check everything is properly packed and ready for the shoot: heels, jewelry, accessories, props. We’ll have some fun things as well, but if you’re bringing something meaningful, a double check doesn’t hurt!
Enjoy a relaxed, quiet evening. The more refreshed you are, the better you’ll feel when you head in!

Clear deodorant, please. No mess!
Wear loose-fitting clothing to your session. This eliminates red marks on your skin.
Eat something light but filling before you leave the house. We’ll have snacks and drinks, but no one wants to be hangry at their shoot!
Arrive with your hair and makeup complete unless you have worked out an in-studio stylist ahead of time.
Take a deep breath and RELAX. You’ve got this! Boudoir sessions are actually super fun and relaxed. We’ll help with everything!
Expect to be in hair and makeup for about an hour. From there, you’ll step into the studio for another hour of just your time. With gorgeous windows, floors, furniture, and props we’ll make sure to capture your beautiful self.
What to Bring |
Sexy heels, accessories, and props you will want to wear for your shoot.
Shop your closet for the items you instinctively select when you want to feel (and look) your very best.
Pick out lingerie that highlights your every graceful curve, but please sometimes remember a tight T-shirt, soft sweater or over-sized button-down shirt can be even sexier. Let your own personality shine through.
Bring something meaningful to you or your significant other. Sports jerseys, their favorite sweatshirt. Things like these really make session fun and more personable.

After the Shoot |
Go treat yourself to some of the excellent businesses located right next to the studio. Compass Coffee offers fantastic coffee and treats, Most Everything is full of amazing vintage goods, and of course all the breweries downtown!
