Vancouver Summer Brewfest 2018

What a great way to spend a summer weekend than a beer in hand and amazing friends all around! This year’s Vancouver Summer Brewfest was held on August 10th, and 11th in Esther Short Park and the weather was perfect. We opened the gates a 4 pm to a line past the clock tower, and we broke attendance records for a Friday night!

I wandered around and got to taste quite a few of this year’s beers. In hot weather, and particularly this year,  I am very partial to sours and farmhouses. So it is no surprise that I found myself going back to Ex Novo for more of their Cactus Wins the Lottery and to Ghost Runners for their Chasing Fluffy Pink Unicorns.

My big surprise was from Von Ebert Brewing and their Sector 7 NE IPA. The hazy phase didn’t phase me, but this one stood out of the crowd for me at Brewfest. I will be stopping by one of their two breweries in Portland.

Enjoying both days, my husband and I spoiled ourselves and grabbed a room at the downtown Hilton Saturday night to make it a little date night. After Brewfest ended, we wanted to still go out. So we dropped off our stuff in our room and walked right over to Loowit Brewing. When that closed for the night, we made our way up to Tap Union and enjoyed their firepit and good company.

I really love the Vancouver, WA craft brewing scene. The people in the industry are amazing and make some of the best brews I have tasted.

Working with the Vancouver Brewfest is fantastic as well as they donate the proceeds to some amazing nonprofits around the area. Not to mention, they really showcase what we can find locally and how spoiled we are to live in such a great place with so many choices for drinks. I am so glad that I get to attend the festival and capture all the people having a great time and help out some great causes.

Also a HUGE thank you to Rachel with Rachel Konsella Photography and Annie with Vivid Reveal for helping me out!

If you attended this year, what were your favorite brews?
