FAQ’s

There are a lot of questions that you might have about Missy Fant Photography and how we work through out your wedding day. We put together this list of frequently asked questions to hopefully answer the questions you may have. If not, feel free to contact us.
General Questions:
Do you deliver every image you shoot?

In short, no. There are test shots for lighting, bad expressions, multiple duplicate images, and images that just don’t fit with the congruency of the story. We sort out the best of the best to edit and deliver to you

Do we offer video?

No, but we are willing to give recommendations to local ones that may fit what you are looking for. Check out our preferred vendors list

Do you do destination weddings and engagements?

Yes! We would love to talk to you about you destination event. Contact us directly to chat about what the additional fees would be.

Do you provide partial day or hourly rates?

It depends on the date. During the off season we would be absolutely happy to cover hourly and partial day. Contact us to see if we have your date open.

Do you offer other types of photography other then weddings, engagements and portraits?

Yes. We offer event and commercial photography as well. If you would like to talk about these, please contact us to receive more information.

Style and Quality Questions
What is your photography style?

Starting out as landscape photographers, we love to blend landscapes and fine art together to deliver eye catching images for your day.

Can you work in low light/dark venues?

Absolutely. With knowledge and experience using multiple lighting systems, light painting, and equipment able to adjust to little light, low light situations are absolutely our favorite.

Post Production Questions
Do you touch up all delivered images?

All delivered images have been chosen and hand edited by us. There is no outsourcing in our studio. When we shoot your event, you picture a certain look and feel to the images. Editing them ourselves lets us really bring out those feelings in your images.

What is the extent of your editing?

We try to keep our editing to a minimum. We will correct colors, touch up blemishes, and do some basic clean up.

Image Download Questions
Do you provide the RAW files from my engagement session and wedding day?

No. RAW files are basically digital images. The images may need to get cropped, some small adjustments made,  and then converted to JPEG’s for your use.

How many images do you deliver on the image download?

I like to give the estimate of roughly 50 images per hour, per photographer. So if you have Missy and one of her associates for 6 hours, you can expect roughly around 600 images. Most of the time we deliver over the amount.

What if I lose my images?

We’ve got your back! Missy backs up the images onto 2 different hard drives in her studio and has your online gallery available. Just contact us if this happens and we will see what we can do to help you.

Equipment Questions
What type of camera/equipment do you use?

We use professional grade gear to ensure that you get top quality images.

Missy’s equipment is listed as this:

Nikon D750, D600 and D7000

Lenses: Nikkor 24-70 2.8, 80-200 2.8, 50mm 1.8

Lighting: Multiple speed lights, Flashpoint 600w strobes, and lots of fun light painting tools to really set your apart.

Missy makes sure that her associates also have comparable gear.

Business Insurance 
Do you have Liability Insurance?

Yes. I have all my licenses and insurance up to date.

Meeting Policies
We’re very busy and won’t be able to meet. What are our other options?

Thanks to the internet, you can email me any time, we can setup a phone conference or even a video chat!

Do you travel to meet clients?

I travel within 50 miles from my studio to meet clients. If you would like to meet halfway, we can always figure something out.

How do I set up an appointment to meet you and see some of your work?

Contact me! I would love to meet you at our studio or at your favorite place to grab a drink and talk about how we would be perfect for you.

Payment and Tax Questions
How do I reserve you for my date?

We require a $100 non-refundable deposit and a signed contract to reserve your date.

If we change our wedding to a different date will we be able to use our deposit towards a future date?

As long as we have that date available for you, absolutely!

Are there travel fees associated with the Engagement Session and/or Wedding Day shoot(s)?

Any shoot outside 50 miles from our studio requires a travel fee. The fees range depending on your location. Let us know what you’re thinking and we can get you a price!

Do you offer any discounts on weekday weddings, Sunday weddings, or weddings during the offseason?

We do. Again, inquire with your date and we’ll work you up a custom quote.
