Kylie and Kelly’s Magical Wedding at Lakeside Gardens

I make it no secret that I am a geek. So when Kylie and Kelly met me, I behaved myself until they mentioned that she was a Twitch streamer and that both of them LOVE video gaming. They also spoke about how their wedding was Harry Potter, and Zelda themed, it was a match made in heaven.

It’s dangerous to go alone, take this.

When Bill and I arrived at Lakeside Gardens in Portland, Or, we came early, as usual, and started scouting in the venue. We actually found a really cool tunnel in the back of the property that would be amazing for portraits, but the downside is that there is a little bit of climbing and going through mud to get there, so we automatically crossed that off the list for this wedding, but we may get to use it in the future.

Kylie and Kelly arrived shortly after and went straight to their rooms to get ready.

They were pretty quick as they mostly got ready before we arrived. We walked Kelly out to the small island on the lake that had two amazing bridges to cross to get there. Shortly after, I went and got Kylie while trying to shield her from her Father’s eyes as he had a first look as well.

And of course, we had her give him a little twirl.

We did a few more big group shots in the area before we hid them away, as the guests were already starting to arrive.

The ceremony site was a cute grass area with a gazebo on one end and a trellised path on the other. But seriously, the vows were AMAZING. They included references to Lord of the Rings, Zelda, Princess Bride, and a TON of other nerdy references that worked perfect for these two.

Back in the reception hall, the tables had Harry Potter books, lanterns, Triforce treasure chests,  and what I interpreted to be Whomping Willows.

While the guests were enjoying the delicious dessert, the couple stepped on stage for their first dances.

As night fell, Bill and I took these two outside for their couples portraits. We love using twilight and beyond to create our images. It allows us to get creative with our lighting and develop images that set our couples apart.

And of course, the bouquet and garter tosses.

I loved working with these two amazing people and hope to play some games online the in quiet winter time. Congrats you two!
