Safe space for every story.
Finding joy in your most honest moments.
PNW heart & steady soul.
You deserve to be documented exactly as you are.

The air was crisp, the trails were lined with crunchy leaves, and the golden light made the moss practically glow. It was the absolute sweetest setting for an afternoon wandering through the woods with Ainsley!

Senior year is a HUGE milestone, how are you being captured?

If you approach an imposing stone wall at the edge

If you approach an imposing stone wall at the edge of Whipple Creek Park, there’s really only one reasonable thing to do: channel your best outrageous French accent and demand to know what business anyone has here.

When Logan mentioned hearing about an old stone structure on the Whipple Creek map, our quest was set. We headed straight for the reconstructed mill on the south side of the trails to celebrate his senior milestone—and it turned into an absolute adventure.

Between climbing around the stone foundation, winding through the sunlit woods, and briefly wondering if Dad had been spirited away when he vanished down the trail, Logan brought fantastic humor to the entire afternoon. Naturally, the battlements called for a full reenactment—taunting the woods and declaring, "Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!"

Logan, celebrating your senior year with your family was legendary. Now, go forth and conquer what’s next!

Some people go leaf peeping, we go mushroom peeping.

Our secret spots are shut down to rebuild some roads from the High Lava Fire. So we used this gorgeous day to find some spots for when the Chantelle hit. Lower in elevation, so we only found one Chantelle, but did come home with a giant chicken of the woods.

Our “date days” are actually adventure days, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love dragging my husband out into the middle of nowhere. I let him drive the Jeep today and laughed everytime he slower way down for a pothole and watched him try I be gentle with my car I see how fast I can take those roads at.

You won't be able to reach me, as I will be FAR lost in the woods looking for goodies.

While I made sure I had the right shoes to scramble down to the potholes, Trinity did it in heels!

Her Mom, Aunt, and I also got a private concert in front of the water bursting through the dam and creating the waterfall.

Senior season is in full swing, and I am so excited to create images like these so that teens and their loved ones can remember them exactly as they are at this stage in their life.

I still have a few openings in October, so if you want to create images with your upcoming senior, send me a message!

It's a busy senior season, but at least today’s session kicked off with a private concert at a waterfall.
Yes, the waterfall was louder than her, but still gorgeous.

The fading light has been creating some great lighting for senior sessions. Especially the one with Juniper last night!

Bringing along her skates, playing around the Academy, and walking along the waterfront are always fun ways to capture your senior's light.

Every school has different due dates and requirements for photo submissions. So make sure to check those soon and get your soon-to-be graduates scheduled for a session that highlights them.

Let's face it, media is changing and video is in demand. Specifically reels for your social media.

But how arenauppose to keep up with it all?

That's where my monthly branding subscriptions come into play. Not only can we create static images for your use, but I am now offering short reels as part of the packages.

Are you ready to step up your professional appearance?

Let's grab a coffee and chat.

@vintagegardens_wa has two beauties that make themselves at home during the reception. Perfectly polite, and even escorted some of the kids out into the field to play.

It’s the wide world that calls to us, but it’s the quiet partnership that makes the journey worth taking.

Amanda and Jonah’s engagement session in the Columbia Gorge felt like the start of a classic story. We ducked under heavy branches in a historic apple orchard, skipped along the Columbia, and laughed as the wind rolled off the towering hills above.

I got to capture their engagement session while the sun was setting last night, and it was magical. Can't wait for their wedding.

Ready to start your own adventure? Let’s chase the light together.

It's that time of year where we are all guessing what the weather will do. But here in the PNW, we'll have a wedding no matter what!

Mia and Tyler did just that on Saturday!

With a 7 pm ceremony, we dodged most of the shifty weather, with just some sprinkles at the reception. But we also got some pink skies as we wrapped up the ceremony.

These two threw a PARTY in their parent's backyard with their friends, family, and of course, the neighbors. Because who is going to file a noise complaint when everyone is there?

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

I am making a decision that may not be popular, may impact my business, and may change the way I have shared my work — but protecting children matters more.

Missy Fant Photography will no longer post identifiable images of children on this photography page. Signed release or not.

I cannot, in good conscience, continue putting identifiable images of children online while our legal system is making decisions that leave me deeply disturbed about where the line of protection is being drawn.

I strongly condemn the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling regarding the private possession of AI-generated CSAM depicting fictional children. Whatever legal arguments may surround this case, I find the idea that material depicting the sexual abuse of children can receive constitutional protection absolutely horrifying.

We should be moving toward stronger protections for children — not weaker ones.

AI has created dangers that were unimaginable just a few years ago. Images of real children can be manipulated, altered, and exploited in ways that families never intended or consented to. A signed release does not change my responsibility to think beyond the piece of paper.

So I am choosing to do what I can.

I will not wait for another law, another ruling, or another tragedy to tell me that I should have done more.

Over the next week, I will be working on cleaning up my photography pages and removing identifiable images of children that have previously been posted.

This is bigger than photography.
This is bigger than business.
This is about protecting children.

I will always try to live on the correct side of history, even when doing so is difficult, inconvenient, or costly.

My clients trust me with their memories. Children deserve my protection. And their safety will ALWAYS come before my business.

I'm just here to announce that my favorite season is coming and I am SO EXCITED!

And yes, I am one of those folks that use Halloween decorations as year round decorations in my house (and a few in studio).

Adults will tell you what to do forever. Senior year? This is your call.

When Laken said they wanted Lucia Falls for their backdrop, we went all in.

The rulebook for your session? There isn't one:

Pick the spot you actually care about

Wear whatever makes you feel unstoppable

Show up as you are—we’ll handle the rest

Lily | HELA Class of 2027

Standard backdrops, sterile studio lighting, and forced, polite smiles miss the entire point. Your life isn’t a generic script, and you don’t need to perform for the camera. You're standing at the threshold of your own epic journey—one shaped by the records you spin, the back alleys you wander, and the wild, loud, or quiet things that make you feel alive.

My approach is dead simple: I meet you where you are. No stiff posing, no awkward pretenses, and zero pressure to be anyone other than who you already are. We hit the pavement, track down the vibrant street art, get lost in record store aisles, or run out into wide-open spaces to make something that actually feels like you.

I didn’t start out photographing people. For years

I didn’t start out photographing people. For years, it was just me, the quiet wilderness, and the sweeping ridgelines of the Pacific Northwest. I was obsessed with the grandeur of the landscape—the sweeping, ancient backdrops that make you feel gloriously small.

Then my brother-in-law challenged me to shoot his wedding.

Stepping into that world shifted everything for me. I realized that a magnificent backdrop is breathtaking on its own, but placing raw, honest human connection right in the middle of it? That’s where the real magic happens.

Every great story isn't just about the vast, open road—it’s about the quiet courage of the traveler taking the first step. That perspective shapes every single session I shoot. I don’t just want to take a portrait; I want to ground your story in the beauty of the world around us, celebrating the light that exists in you exactly as you are.

Here’s a favorite frame from a recent senior session in the Columbia River Gorge. Wind, wild views, and a whole new chapter waiting just over the horizon.

Whether your next adventure is tucked in the pines of the PNW or waiting across the map, I’m ready to pack my bags and tell your story. Where are we heading next?

In all seriousness, we were evacuated from our house this afternoon due to a close wildfire. Updates are telling us our fire crews rock and they’ve gotten it mostly under control.

Emilie wanted to stand out with her senior sessions, so I took her to one of my hidden spots along SR 14 to enjoy a quiet afternoon capturing her senior session.

When I started into photography, I loved going out and capturing the landscapes of the area. While I was a construction estimator, my boss gave us Friday's off, so my pup and I would just go out and explore. I'd find parks, viewpoints, and off the beaten path areas to hang out in. Now, I use that knowledge to find the perfect spots for you.

Senior sessions have started!

McKayden met me out at one of the trails I love to use and we had a great time creating images that captured who she is. She even brought along her family pup, Ronnin.

If you're looking to schedule your senior's session, let's chat! All of us senior photographers get booked pretty quick in the next month or so.

Missy made my daughter’s senior photo shoot a truly joyful experience. She’s not only an exceptionally talented photographer but also has a gift for drawing out genuine smiles, even from the most nervous subjects. My daughter is incredibly camera shy and was worried she’d look “awkward,” but from the moment we met Missy, she was at ease. I’m so glad we chose the package with all the digital images—Missy captured so many stunning shots, I couldn’t have chosen just a few. I can’t thank her enough for making the process fun and beautifully capturing such a pivotal moment in my daughter’s life.

Missy Fant took beautiful photos of my child. She was wonderful to work with, friendly, and fun. She suggested delightfully photogenic spots around Vancouver, WA. I highly recommend her.
