Lisa and James Get Married!

Portland Photographer

On a gorgeous private property out in the hills of Oregon City, Lisa and James had a great time with their family and friends that traveled from all over to see them get married.

I started with the ladies getting ready back at the house. The room had perfect window lighting to capture all of her dresses detail and plenty of room for the girls to relax.

The venue belonged to one of the bridesmaid’s parents, and it was GORGEOUS. They had custom artwork on all of the buildings and little things sprinkled everywhere. Between painted rocks and the beautiful landscaping, there was not any drought of spots for portraits. This pathway caught my eye as a perfect, shady hangout for the girls before we left for the church.

I met the boys at the church as they were getting everything set up for the ceremony. It was held at the St Philip Benizi Church a little bit away from the reception property. Here they said their vows and made it official!

After the ceremony, I stole them for a few minutes, and we walked the property and had some fun with the carved door, a walkway lined with flowers, and the grove of trees just next door.

Back at the house, the party was getting started! Guests got to enjoy some music and drinks while they waited for the couple to arrive. I also used this time to begin gathering the family members for all of the formals. I figure the faster that I can unite people, the quicker they can get back to the party!

The property owner flew in a graffiti artist from the east coast to make these custom paintings, so of course, I wanted to include them in the images.

I don’t know what it is, but I love listening to the wedding toasts. They give me a little bit more insight into the couple and their friends. These two did not disappoint.

Lisa was in love with the firepit, so lining up some fun shots here was a no brainer. And the cows! They had some super cute cows that were friendly and coming to the fence when we came near. I have a feeling they thought we had some food for them. No cow, I will NOT share my beer with you.

The dances and bouquet toss were the last thing on the list. The sun was just over the top of the barn and gave us some fun sunbeams to play with.

Congratulations to Lisa and James!

Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your day.
